Muscle pain in athletes with locomotor disability

Article Abstract:

An investigation regarding the Sport-Related Muscle Pain (SRMP) in athletes, with a locomotor disability reveals that, with the increased training volume, the prevalence rate of SRMP also increases. Further, the importance of a strict collaboration among physicians, coaches, and physical trainers for the well-being and the performance of the athlete are highlighted.

DOMS-associated changes in ankle and knee joint dynamics during running

Article Abstract:

Changes in the leg mechanics due to Delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) and stiffness before and after a down hill run is determined by examining ankle and knee joint kinematics. The results indicate that knee mechanics changed such that the knee stiffness increased at initial stance, thereby increasing the vertical leg stiffness.

Balance performance with a cognitive task: A dual-task testing paradigm

Article Abstract:

A dual-task methodology is evaluated to establish the tenability of using this testing model in concussed athletes. Findings indicate that combining the cognitive and balance assessments results in healthy subjects showing improved performance when compared with individual task performance.
