All around tent test

Article Abstract:

A team of nine backpackers tested eight different tents during extreme weather conditions in Utah's wilderness areas. The tents were evaluated on such criteria as wind stability, ease of setup, ventilation, rain-proofing and durability. The $250 Walrus Warp/2 earned the top rating.

Five campers tested seven, ventable tents during a July trip to Upper Michigan's Porcupine Mountains. The $269.99 Eureka Alpenlite 2 and the $185 Walrus Arch Rival earned the top ratings. Criteria evaluated included wind stability, ease of setup, and durability.
