Application of the experience sampling method to the effects of exercise withdrawal on well-being

Article Abstract:

Exercise deprivation can have significant physiological and psychological implications. Experience sampling method was used to analyze the effect of exercise withdrawal and results indicated that subjects who exercised regularly and were not allowed to exercise for some days showed a significant increase in the number of reported physical symptoms. However no pervasive psychological effects of exercise withdrawal were observed.

The Theory of Planned Behavior and exercise: Evidence of the mediating and moderating roles of planning on intention-behavior relationships

Article Abstract:

Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and exercise behavior are reported that consider the mediating and moderating effects of planning on intention-behavior relationship is studied. The results are discussed in relation to recent models of health behavior that focus on the volitional phase of health behavior.

Inactivity may be hazardous to your image: the effects of exercise participation on impression formation

Article Abstract:

This article examines the relationship between exercise habits and social perception. Findings indicate that men and women who were described as exercisers in brief vignettes were rated more favorably on several personality and physical dimensions when compared to non-exercisers and control subjects.
