Are there limits to running world records?

Article Abstract:

A study assesses whether a more biologically sound, statistically robust nonlinear, flattened S-shaped logistic curve could provide a superior fit to both men's and women's established world records across a range of running distances, compared to linear regression models. Results conclude that many of the established men and women's endurance running world records are nearing their limits and, consequently, women's world records are unlikely to ever reach those achieved by men.

Acute sleep responses in a normobaric hypoxic tent

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to investigate the acute effects of sleeping in a normobaric hypoxic tent upon markers of sleep physiology and quality, compared with sleep in a normal ambient environment and sleep in a normobaric normoxic tent. It is reported that sleep in a normobaric hypoxic tent at a simulated altitude of 2500 m might affect sleep parameters in some individuals.

Is sleep disturbed by vigorous late-night exercise?

Article Abstract:

Studies on causal links between late-night exercise and sleep disorders remain inconclusive. In tests using various sleep-wake cycles, intense exercising and bright lights, researchers found no correlation between exercise and insomnia, sleep onset latency, wakefulness after sleep onset, or total length of sleep time. Wrist monitors were used to define sleep categories.
