Bridging the gap: fitness through the ages

Article Abstract:

Physical therapy students at the University of Scranton planned and implemented an exercise program for senior citizens in the area surrounding their school. The program was both beneficial for the community, which has a large elderly population and an excellent educational experience for the students.

"Typical" rotator cuff impingement syndrome: it's not always typical

Article Abstract:

The shoulder is increasingly seen as a principal site of sports and work-related injuries, age-related degeneration, and arthritis. Understanding the natural history, pathogenesis, and diagnosis of shoulder impingement syndromes will lead to the appropriate treatment for shoulder dysfunction.

Magnetic resonance imaging evaluation of muscle usage associated with three exercises for rotator cuff rehabilitation

Article Abstract:

This article evaluates the effectiveness of different exercises in rotator cuff rehabilitation. The side-lying exercise was most effective for all muscles but the trapezius, which was best treated with military press and scapation with internal rotation.
