Cardio-respiratory responses to rowing ergometry and treadmill exercise soon after myocardial infarction

Article Abstract:

Research reveals that treadmill exercise is more metabolically efficient for men recovering from heart attacks than rowing ergometry. Results are based on measuring oxygen consumption, respiratory exchange ration, and rates of perceived exertion at individualized target heart rates for 11 men given beta-blockade medication.

Physical activity and regulation of food intake: current evidence

Article Abstract:

Results show that physical activity does not always lead to additional food intake. The data also point out that a high level of physical activity may aid weight control by matching food intake to energy expenditure.
