Cardiovascular responses during prolonged exercise at ventilatory threshold in boys and men

Article Abstract:

This study examines the differences in cardiac output, heart rate, blood pressure, and stroke volume between men and boys engaged in prolonged exercise at ventilatory threshold. The cardiovascular responses are similar, but men experience greater cardiovascular drift, or changes in stroke volume and heart rate over time.

Maximal exercise as a countermeasure to orthostatic intolerance after spaceflight

Article Abstract:

This article examines the effects of an intense exercise protocol performed two hours before the end of a spaceflight on the orthostatic responses of crewmembers. Results indicate that maximal exercise before landing helped maintain preflight cardiac output and stroke volume but did not affect blood pressure and heart rate responses.

Postexercise whole-body protein turnover response to three levels of protein intake

Article Abstract:

The changes in the whole-body protein turnover (WBPTO) due to variations in levels of protein intake after exercise in endurance trained males are investigated. Findings reveal that low-, moderate- and high- protein intake change the plasma amino acid levels and modulates rates of WBPTO after exercises.
