Enhanced cardiovascular hemodynamics in endurance-trained postmenopausal women athletes

Article Abstract:

This study compares the hemodynamics and cardiac output of postmenopausal women athletes and their sedentary peers while performing maximal treadmill exercise. Results indicate that postmenopausal women athletes have greater cardiac outputs and higher stroke volumes when compared to the control group.

Is there a diassocation of maximal oxygen consumption and maximal cardiac output?

Article Abstract:

A test of nine health men and women showed that while cardiac output was higher at the 6 minute than the 12 minute label, oxygen consumption remained the same.

Effect of aerobic exercise training of renal responses to sodium in hypertensives

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to examine the effect of aerobic exercise training on renal hemodynamics in older hypertensive individuals. Conclusively, although 6-month aerobic exercise training program resulted in a significant reduction in BP, there was no observation on any significant alteration in renal hemodynamics in this population of older hypertensive persons and the so caused reduction is not caused by a change in renal hemodynamics or Na(super +) handling.
