Developmental effects influencing observational modeling: A meta-analysis

Article Abstract:

A meta-analysis was done on the observational modeling literature in order to quantify overall between participant treatment effects gained for adult and child populations. It was seen that due to observation, children show a greater tendency to achieve movement outcome goals rather than adults who give more importance on matching present intrinsic dynamics with the observed task dynamics.

A comparison of modeling and imagery in the acquisition and retention of motor skills

Article Abstract:

Two experiments were conducted in two laboratories to find out separate and potentially replicate results regarding the effects of modeling and imagery of novel task performance. Immediate beneficial effects can be seen on movement form and outcome by a single bout of modeling.
