Drinking behavior and perception of thirst in untrained women drug 6 weeks of heat acclimation and outdoor training

Article Abstract:

Measures of fluid intake and perception of thirst in women over a six week period of exercise- heat acclimation and outdoor training is characterized and examination of whether this lengthy acclimation period would result in changes in fluid intake that differ from previously reported in men, is done. This article also discuses the measurement of voluntary water intake and perception of thirst.

The effects of nutritional supplementation throughout an endurance run on leucine kinetics during recovery

Article Abstract:

A study compares the effects of consuming a carbohydrate and a mixed protein-carbohydrate drink throughout an endurance run on leucine kinetics during the recovery period after exercise. Results show that nutritional supplementation during exercise might be successful in maximum protein utilization after prolonged exercise.

Fluid, electrolyte, and renal indices of hydration during 11 days of controlled caffeine consumption

Article Abstract:

An investigation determined if 3 levels of controlled caffeine consumption affected fluid-electrolyte balance and renal function differently. The findings exhibit no evidence of hypohydration in CO, C3 and C6 and also question the widely accepted notions that caffeine consumption acts chronically as a diuretic.
