Effects of shoe sole construction on skeletal motion during running

Article Abstract:

This article investigates the influence of shoe sole adjustments on skeletal kinematics during running. Findings indicate that there were no significant differences in the tibiocalcaneal rotations of runners wearing athletic shoes with straight, flared, or rounded soles.

External loading of the knee joint during running and cutting maneuvers

Article Abstract:

This article examines the external loads placed on knee joints during running and cutting tasks that involve a directional change. Findings indicate that there is greater ligament loading potential during cutting moves like sidestepping when compared to running due to an increase in joint rotation.

Effect of shoe inserts on kinematics, center of pressure, and leg joint moments during running

Article Abstract:

A study that concentrates on the effect of four different shoe inserts on lower-extremity kinematics, the correction of the path of COP, and the reduction of ankle and knee joint moments is discussed. It also establishes the relationship between the measured COP path and the moments for knee abduction and external knee rotation.
