Effects of Lidocaine into knee on QF strength and EMG in patients with ACL lesion

Article Abstract:

A study was done to investigate changes in maximal voluntary contraction (MVC) and integrated electromyographic (I-EMG) of the quadriceps femoris (QF) of patients with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture in response to lidocaine injection. The findings showed that the MVC and I-EMG of patients with ruptured ACL did not change significantly by licodaine injection, local anesthetic, into the knee joint.

Gamma loop dysfunction in quadriceps on the contralateral side in patients with ruptured ACL

Article Abstract:

Research points out that the abnormal gamma loop in the quadriceps femoris muscle of the uninjured side with anterior cruciate ligament is manifested in the form of prolonged vibration stimulation. Data indicate that normal response of maximal voluntary contraction and integrated electromyography to prolonged stimulation can not be evoked in the absence of normal function of the gamma loop.

Acupuncture and responses of immunologic and endocrine markers during competition

Article Abstract:

Research points out that accupuncture is effective for physical and mental well-being of athletes. Results show that accupuncture inhibits exercise-induced reduction in the salivary SIgA and increase of salivary cortisol, improves muscle tension and fatigue, and modulates profile of mood states of athletes.
