Effects of antioxidant therapy in women exposed to eccentric exercise

Article Abstract:

The study was conducted on eighteen women to determine the effects of antioxidant therapy on indirect markers of muscle damage following eccentric exercise. The result shows that antioxidant supplementation prior to and after eccentric exercise was beneficial in reducing the elevation in plasma creatine kinase activity and muscle soreness, with little impact on maximal isometric force and range of motion loss.
