Effects of training resumption on conduit arterial diameter in elite rowers

Article Abstract:

Cross-sectional comparisons were performed between elite rowers resuming training after a respite and untrained age and gender matched controls to assess effects of long-term exercise on vessel structure. Resumption of training further enhanced vessel diameter even in trained athletes with prior evidence of vascular enlargement and it was better than in matched healthy controls.
