Energy balance and dietary habits of America's Cup Sailors

Article Abstract:

The study of the energy balance and dietary habits of 15 America's Cup sailors indicates the lesser intake of carbohydrate, protein and fat than the recommended guidelines and prescribe them Mediterranean diet for better performance.

Body mass changes and nutrient intake of Optimist class sailors on a race day

Article Abstract:

The study of changes in body mass and nutrient intake in 65 male Optimist dinghy sailors during race day shows that it is necessary to improve the dietary practices of young sailors by developing specific strategies.

The article studies the dietary intake of a group of 35 club sailors while racing. The nutritional practices of club sailors do not comply with current sports nutrition guidelines.
