Estuary bass: new fly patterns and tactics for tough summer stripers

Article Abstract:

New fly patterns and tactics are developed and older ones those refined are presented. Research shows that sand shrimps are a primary prey species for striped bass in the Bay of Fundy and Delaware Bay. A canoe or kayak is the most useful tool for stalking bass in estuaries.

Early season stripers: top fly patterns for early-season baits

Article Abstract:

Herring, common to Long Island and in the Hudson and lower Mohawk rivers are discussed as important bait in the early season. The abundant estuaries in the Northeast are suggested for fishing for the wide availability of bait.
