Fish for two: the catch of the day could bring healthier babies

Article Abstract:

Recent research shows that women who eat fish up to three times a week tend to give birth to larger and longer babies. The increases average about half a pound in weight and a centimeter in length. It is possible that fish oils facilitate the flow of blood and nutrients to the placenta.

Sink diabetes: salmon may keep blood sugar steady

Research indicates that people who eat salmon every day have a 50% reduced chance of developing glucose intolerance than people who eat the fish less often. Researchers believe that the fatty acids in salmon may facilitate the delivery of glucose to cells.

Breast-feeding basics; position yourself for success

Mother's who breastfeed are advised to place the baby's stomach on hers to keep the baby's head in line with its body. The mother or father should assure that the baby's mouth is wide open and the tongue is positioned over the lower jaw line.
