Walleyes in the uglies

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning techniques for fishing walleyes are discussed. Particular attention is given to the walleyes' behavior in the summer when they can be found in shallow waters, in the mud or weeds close to the top. Ways of finding bets fishing sites are suggested.

Bottoms up for walleyes

Walleyes can only be caught by presenting bait properly. The proper use of slip-sinker, three-way, bottom-bouncer and power trolling rigs are illustrated.

Inlets are the best locations for catching walleyes in the spring. Fisher Gary Roach believes that a bottom channel with a depth of four or five feet is a favorable location to catch walleyes in rivers with seasonal flows. Mark Martin's fishing strategies for year-round flows are discussed.
