The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and Women's Tennis Association (WTA), which manage and market the men's and women's professional tours, have both recently endured leadership crises. The resignation of WTA CEO Bart McGuire will make way for more astute leadership in the business and marketing aspects of the organization. The bankruptcy of a key ATP partner means the group will have to recover sponsors it jilted previously.

A new treatment for tennis elbow, called extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) or orthotripsy, has been shown to be 70% effective. ESWT is used primarily as a noninvasive treatment for breaking up kidney stones, but is effective in treating soft-tissue ailments at a modified power levels.
