Sprawling impoundments present daunting challenges to bass anglers, especially to first-time visitors. In the upper reaches of most impoundments, the predominant cover consists of wood in a creek channel that wends through a flat the wood that is either snags or submerged stumps along the channel's edge.

Bass fishing can be easier when hooks are dressed with the appropriate trailers. One largemouth bass fisherman uses a spinnerbait trailer. Trailers should be chosen depending upon water color. Several types are discussed, and instructions are given.
