Shaye and Jennifer Collins run a trout hatchery that sells stock to fish and game clubs and owners of private ponds. Their operation has grown from an 80-gal Plexiglas tank to steel and concrete troughs that accommodate 140,000 fish. Tips on a basic setup for a small-scale trout hatchery are included.

Eclectic electric: they're not just for trolling anymore

The $700 Minn Kota Riptide Auto Pilot, $420 Minn Kota Ex Extreme and the $750 Great White Lazer demonstrate the improvements made to trolling motors. The autopilot technology of the Riptide Auto Pilot is superb, while the thrust of the Ex Extreme performs well. The Lazer turns quickly.
