Article Abstract:

A .44 magnum revolver or a single shot are the handguns recommended for deer hunting. A .41 can be used if the .44 is unmanageable. Two Rugers, a Smith & Wesson and the Thompson/Center single shot, which doubles the revolvers' 100-yard range, performed well in tests. Prices ranged from $413 to $825.
