Hot work on the bay: The heat and lack of wind should have been a warning

Article Abstract:

Chesapeake Bay that was over 103 degrees when a sailor and his wife were returning from their wonderful weekend in Annapolis by sea and the horizon that looked like a giant roll of carpet with small, unnerving clouds preceding it, is described. He explains that they felt a zephyr and without any further warning they were under the juggernaut, however with much difficulty they came through unscathed, even though there was lot of damage and loss around them.

An affair to remember

Article Abstract:

Experiences of sailing on 'Vega', fresh out of the Coast Guard Boatswain Mate School, are described as a realization of a childhood dream.
