Intense endurance training on heart rate and blood pressure variability in runners

Article Abstract:

This article examines the effects of endurance training on autonomic balance by investigating blood pressure and heart rate variability in a sample of competitive runners. Findings indicate that intense training resulted in decreased resting heart rate variability and that cardiac parameter changes are associated with reduced sympathetic vasomotor control.
