Children's OMNI scale of perceived exertion: mixed gender and race validation

Article Abstract:

Results support using OMNI Scale for assessing undifferentiated and differentiated ratings of perceived exertion during bicycle exercise by the children aged 8 to 12 year .

Intermodal comparison of energy expenditure at exercise intensities corresponding to the perceptual preference range

Article Abstract:

A study measured the amount of energy expended on various exercise machines by men and women. To reach the recommended exercise level of 200 kcal a day, men have to use the treadmill for 14 mins and 29 minutes on a cycling machine. Women expend less energy and need 22 minutes on the treadmill and 44 minutes on the cycle.

This article investigates the relationship between oxygen consumption and exertion in children. An analysis of heart rate. tiredness, exercise intensity, and aerobic metabolism is presented.
