It's camp time!

Article Abstract:

Swimming enthusiasts, serious athletes and even coaches benefit from attending swim camps and clinics. Swimmers get to hone their skills while having fun working with outstanding celebrity coaches. The Athletes Village is headed by 1996 Olympian Mark Henderson and is supported by other fellow Olympians. The school focuses primarily on changing improper techniques and developing the butterfly stroke. Other prominent camps include 1968 Olympic veteran Debbie Meyer's Triple Gold clinics and the Gold Medal Swimming Clinics of Olympic gold winners Shaun Jordan and Tom Jager.

Swim doc

Article Abstract:

Swimmers with lower back pain can still perform laps and workout in the pool. Exceptions to this rule include having Scheuermann's disease, having rotator cuff tendinitis and doing many things without adequate preparation. Since most lower back pain is attributed to muscle fatigue, exercises aimed at strengthening lower back muscles need to be done regularly. The pelvic tilt, trunk flex and partial sit-ups are some exercises that will help prepare a swimmer's back and prevent injury.

Cross-train express

Article Abstract:

Cross-training in the swimming pool offers benefits that help prepare anyone for land activities and sports such as golf, volleyball and soccer. Such training increases strength and also loosens tight muscles and other body parts. Swimmers will no longer need to go to the gym or purchase additional gear, since they can easily perform cross-training routines even in their swim attire.
