Joan Benoit Samuelson, winner of the 1984 Olympic marathon race in Los Angeles, finally has achieved the creation of a road runner race in her home town. The first-ever run was held Aug. 1, 1998 with the elite of running officials and runners participating. Visitor information is included.

A 39-year-old lifelong athlete discovered that he had testicular cancer. He underwent surgery to prevent the spread of the embryonal seminomal carcinoma from spreading to his lungs and he will have to wait two years to be certain he is safe.
