Limits to logic

Article Abstract:

Hooking mortality can be kept low with careful handling when fishing with flies that for all intents and purposes it is negligible. The differences in hooking mortality between artificial lures and artificial flies is increasing when one considers the cumulative effect on mortality associated with repeated capture of the same fish over a period of several years.

The acoustic footprint

Article Abstract:

Auditory footprint is more powerful trail than the visual footprint for the predators, as fish use the auditory footprint to locate the general position of the prey even in darkness and hence it is important to create artificial flies. Auditory footprints are created by the ripples due to replacement of water, which travel outside in diminishing strength.

Hollow Fleyes: Create a realistic baitfish profile with Bob Popovics' newest bucktail technique

Article Abstract:

Bob Popovics' Hollow Fleye design involves tying bunches of bucktail on the hook shank in the opposite direction of the hook bend and propping it rearward at various angles with a thread wall. This method uses less material to build a fly with a large profile and also allows greater control over bucktail.
