Minimum weight prediction methods cross-validated by the four-component model

Article Abstract:

The body composition methods of dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA), leg-to-leg bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA), hydrostatic weighing (HW), and skinfolds (SF) are cross-validated for predicting MW using a four-component criterion (4C). Comparable means, high correlations, regression lines that did not significantly deviate from the line of identity, and no systematic bias were found.

Is leg-to-leg BIA valid for predicting minimum weight in wrestlers?

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to evaluate leg-to-leg bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) against a four-component criterion to determine whether leg-to-leg BIA predicted minimum weight (MW) within acceptable limits for the sport of wrestling. Conclusions reveal that large individual variation is seen and by definition, the precision is poor when estimating MW for individuals.

Multicomponent cross-validation of minimum weight predictions for college wrestlers

Article Abstract:

An attempt is made to cross-validate the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) methods for estimating the minimum weight, using a multicomponent criterion. The result suggests that the methods were accurate because the regression lines did not significantly deviate from the lines of identity.
