Montelukast has no ergogenic effect on cycle ergometry in cold temperature

Article Abstract:

The effects of a single 10-mg dose of montelukast (ML) on physical performance in exercise-induced bronchoconstriction (EIB)- and EIB+ athletes are examined. A single 10mg dose of ML had no ergogenic effect for EIB_ and EIB+ subjects performing short-duration high-intensity exercise in subfreezing temperature, subfreezing temperature, supporting the use of ML as EIB prophylaxis during international sport competition.

Baseline lung function, exercise-induced bronchoconstriction, and asthma-like symptoms in elite women ice hockey players

Article Abstract:

A study to assess baseline lung function and asthma-like symptoms and their relationship to exercise-induced bronchoconstriction (EIB) in elite women ice hockey players is presented. Result of experiments conducted on 43 players of the National ice hockey team suggests that EIB is a unique respiratory syndrome heterogeneous in nature.

Bronchoconstriction during cross-country skiing: is there really refractory period?

Article Abstract:

A study is undertaken on occurrence of bronchoconstriction during an interval type simulated cross country ski race. The airway response and refractoriness during ~forty-two min cross country ski time trial preceded by a six to nine min 2.5km high-intensity warm-up ski are examined.
