Multidimensional performance characteristics and standard of performance in talented youth field hockey players: A longitudinal study

Article Abstract:

Anthropometric, physiological, technical, tactical, and psychological characteristics of some elite and sub-elite youth players at the end of three consecutive seasons were measured to identify performance characteristics that could help predict future field hockey players. Repeated-measures analyses of covariance indicated that the elite performed better than the sub-elite players on technical and tactical variables.

A modified TRIMP to quantify the in-season training load of team sport players

Article Abstract:

The relationship between modified training impulse (TRIMP) and adaptations in the physiological profile of team sport players was studied based on the treadmill performance of eight male field hockey players. The correlation between the modified TRIMP and Oxygen uptake along with the blood lactate concentration proves that modified TRIMP is a useful parameter to quantify the training load.
