Neural activation after maximal isometric contractions at different muscle lengths

Article Abstract:

A study investigates whether neural activation dependence on muscle length is preserved with neuromuscular fatigue and whether fatigue induced by a maximal isometric exercise is muscle length dependent. Results show that the neural activation dependence on quadriceps muscle length is maintained with fatigue, and that neuromuscular fatigue after maximal isometric contraction is dependent on the muscle length at which the exercise is performed.

Polycythemia decreases fatigue in tetanic contractions of canine skeletal muscle

Article Abstract:

A study of the effects of an acute polycythemia on muscle fatigue development in self-perfused canine gastrocnemius in situ showed that muscle fatigue development is diminished by polycythemia during high metabolic rate isotonic tetanic contractions, but that the ergogenic effect appears to be transient.
