The fashion industry has begun to take advantage of the popularity of ski apparel and has created a fashion phenomena. Many of the biggest names in the fashion industry have introduced their own line of Alpine styles. Ski styles of the '60s and '70s are particularly in great demand.

Most ski areas are responding to the increased popularity of snowboarding by developing runs and competitions for snowboarders. Skiing and snowboarding can be compatible. Ski Green Valley plans to offer a snowboard park under the name of Big Air Green Valley.
