Dose-response and coagulation and hemostatic factors

Article Abstract:

This article examines the effects of physical activity on blood coagulation factors, platelet function, and fibronolysis in healthy subjects. Findings indicate that exercise results in the activation of the fibrinolytic system, platelets, and several factors involved in blood coagulation.

Sedentary lifestyle, poor cardiorespiratory fitness, and the metabolic syndrome

Article Abstract:

Research demonstrates that sedentary lifestyles and poor cardiorespiratory fitness are both causative and predictive of the metabolic syndrome. Results show that levels of maximal oxygen uptake is an indicator of susceptibility to metabolic syndrome in sedentary men with risk factors. Data indicate that subjects with a less than 29.1 milliliter per kilogram per min. of maxuimum oxygen uptake are seven times more likely to exhibit metabolic syndrome.

Physical activity in the prevention and treatment of a thrombogenic profile in the obese: current evidence and research issues

Article Abstract:

Regular exercise reduces platelet aggregability in obese subjects. Controlled randomized clinical trials are required to better understand the relationship between exercise training and thrombogenesis.
