Physical activity, obesity status, and glycemic control: The ATTICA study

Article Abstract:

A randomized, cross-sectional health and nutrition ATTICA survey conducted in the province of Attica, Greece, examines the relationship of physical activity and obesity with the glycemic control and insulin resistance. The study shows that in spite of physical activity being a very important factor for insulin sensitivity, an increase in the physical activity can reduce the common effects of obesity on the sensitivity of insulin.

Simultaneous arterial pressure recordings improve the detection of endofibrosis

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to determine whether after exercise, ankle-to-brachial index (ABI) calculated from simultaneous measurements was better than from consecutive measurements for differentiating athletes with exercise-induced arterial endofibrosis (EIAE) from normal athletes. It is suggested between leg differences should be preferred to single-leg bilateral brachial and ankle (ASBP) and ABI values for the detection of EIAE.
