Psychosocial mediators of physical activity in a randomized controlled intervention trial

Article Abstract:

A study aims to examine the importance of particular theoretical constructs among participants who are randomly assigned to a physical activity intervention based on the Transtheoretical model and Social Cognitive theory or to a standard care group. The findings show that theory-based physical activity interventions might be effective through changes in particular theoretical constructs.

Mediators of a randomized controlled physical activity intervention for breast cancer survivors

Article Abstract:

A mediator analysis from a randomized controlled trial of a home-based physical activity (PA) intervention is presented for breast cancer survivors. It is indicated that increase in moderate-intensity PA and improved fitness mediate intervention effects on vigor.
