Racecourse: The great adventure

Article Abstract:

Vendee Globe is a single-handed nonstop around-the-world marathon, which started in 1989, and it is arguably the classic of solo offshore racing and straining to grow beyond its French roots. Vincent Riou has won the 2005 Vendee Globe award after ghosting across an almost windless finish line after 87 days, 10 hours, 47 minutes at sea.
