Rainshadow rainbows: some of the best rainbow trout lakes in North America can be found in an area where rain is rare

Article Abstract:

One of the best places for catching rainbow trout is in southern British Columbia. The weather patterns cause storms to stall on the western mountain slopes, creating a 'rainshadow' in the east. This dry region has several lakes known for high populations of rainbow trout.

Trout normally give indications on their location and feeding preference. In some cases, however, a fisherman will have to look very closely for clues on how to catch trout. Sevral tips on how to fish for trout are presented.
