Reexamining the factorial composition and factor structure of the Sport Anxiety Scale

Article Abstract:

The Sport Anxiety Scale is a multidimensional instrument comprised of somatic anxiety, worry, and concentration subscales. This study examines the factorial composition of these subscales and suggests that two items used as concentration disruption measures are more correlated with the worry subscale.

Perfectionism, anger, and situation criticality in competitive youth ice hockey

Article Abstract:

The degree to which male youth ice hockey players' perfectionist orientations were associated with anger vulnerability in competition is examined. The canonical correlation results indicate that heightened perfectionist orientations are associated with heightened competitive trait anger.

A theoretical framework for structuring the content of competitive worry in ice hockey

Article Abstract:

Research is presented on ice hockey players and occurrences of competitive worry. Findings include four domains of competitive worry, such as negative social evaluation, fear of failure, physical danger or injury, and the unknown.
