Sweet surprise: honey may be more than sweet for some

Honey acts as a laxative in people who lack enough of the enzymes needed to break down fructose, which honey contains more of than almost any other food. When unprocessed fructose gets to the large intestine, it ferments, giving off gas and drawing in water.
