Sack the cracks: taking care of an age-old problem

Article Abstract:

Cracked teeth are fairly common and may have a variety of causes, ranging from athletics, to hard food. Painful cracks should be treated, while small painless ones usually will not require treatment. Recommendations for preventing the progression of tooth cracks are discussed.

Research indicates that estrogen supplements may help postmenopausal women keep their teeth longer. In a study of 300 women, estrogen supplements were linked to reduced gum bleeding and a reduction in the amount of bone loss around teeth.
