Seeing through cement dust

Article Abstract:

Details about the installation of Morocco designed to see through the dusty environment of cement homogenisation silos are presented. Throughout the homogenisation process, the silos are filled and emptied while the mixture of crushed limestone, sand and clay is aerated for thorough mixing that creates a lot of dust making it difficult to obtain reliable readings with traditional non-contacting measurement instruments, which is why SITRANS LR 400 has proved to be reliable due to improved process control, low maintenance costs and time saving features.

ED(P)XRF: A decade of success

Article Abstract:

The results of a decade long test to prove the viability of ED(P)XRF technology as an alternate measurement technique for analysis in the cement industry is reviewed. The ten year long tests undertaken by Povazska Cementaren, a.s., Slovak Republic, proves that EDXRF technology is a workable alternative for the cement industry and the X-Lab 2000 instrument used for these tests were found to be consistent, stable, and flexible enough to meet any measurement challenge.
