Targeting the immune system to improve ventilatory function in muscular dystrophy

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to understand the mechanism that lead to respiratory muscle dysfunction, which were critical for the development of therapeutic interventions and aimed at preventing respiratory failure in muscular dystrophy. The findings indicate that immune system play a major role in progressive deterioration of the diaphragm muscle in muscular dystrophy and provide a basis for developing pharmacological approaches to maintain muscle mass and function in the disease.

Amount and Bouts of physical activity in a sample of African-American women

Article Abstract:

An analysis was done to compare the physical activity patterns with the recommendations of Centers for disease control and prevention (CDC)/American College of Sports and Medicine (ACSM) for moderate activity. The study did not meet the general CDC/ACSM recommendation as the women in the sample participated few days per week.
