Speedy recovery

A recent study showed that regular speedwork will increase the level of human growth hormone in the blood, which will aid in recovery from strenuous workouts. Runners should start with short speed intervals and gradually increase them.

Better with age

Runners past the age of 40 can perform near the peak of their capabilities if they do not cut back in the quality of their training. By maintaining high level training a middle aged person can minimize normal physiological declines.
