Stance width and bar load effects on leg muscle activity during the parallel squat

Article Abstract:

Stance width apparently does not cause isolation within the quadriceps in the parallel squat. It does apparently influence muscle activity on the medial thigh and buttocks. Nine male weight lifters were subjects in a study on bar load and stance width effects on leg muscle activity in the parallel squat. Only load effect was significant for vastus medialis, vastus lateralis and for rectus femoris.

Effects of recovery modes after knee extensor muscles eccentric contractions

Article Abstract:

The benefit of using low-intensity running or electromyostimulation (EMS) to hasten recovery process from eccentric-contraction-induced injury is discussed. The results indicated tat the different recovery modes had no significant effect on the recovery time course of contractile properties.
