Article Abstract:
Mitchel Y. Abolafia's book, 'Making Markets: Opportunism and Restraint on Wall Street,' discusses market makers establish informal and formal regulations to take advantage of the opportunistic tendencies of market participants. Three occupations of market makers were identified, namely, buying and selling of commodities future, government and corporate bonds and corporate stock on The New York Stock Exchange. The book has also dealt with three distinct methods of control and three social and historical contexts for unregulated economic behavior.
