The daze after: sleepless nights have spinout effects

Article Abstract:

Sleep studies on a computer-based driving simulator at the London, Ontario Health Science Centre attempted to relate sleepiness to a driver's ability to perform crucial driving operations. Later, test with sleepy subjects rated their performances as worst than those of drunk drivers.

Cyclical breathing: asthma flare-ups linked to monthly cycles

Article Abstract:

Women make up about 60% of all asthmatic adults and account for 75% of the hospitalizations for the attacks. Research indicates that there may be a connection between the attacks and monthly fluctuating of estrogen. Women should monitor their attacks relative to the menstrual cycle.

Ironing out troubles: too much iron may spell trouble for your colon

Article Abstract:

Iron-rich food such as red meats may release too many free radicals in the body which could cause DNA damage and lead to cancers such as colon cancer. Iron is needed in healthy diets but not in excessive amounts. Substitutes for red meats include fish, legumes, and chicken.
