The 5 faces of death: most snakes are harmless. A relatively few are dangerous ... and this lethal quintet is in a class all by itself

Article Abstract:

There may be about a dozen deaths a year from snakebites in the US, but the most deadly snakes live in other parts of the world. Land snakes that have killed the most people are the saw-scaled viper, Indian cobra, Russell's viper, 'barba amarilla,' and African puff adder.
