The effect of general anesthesia on passive-knee-extension range of motion

Article Abstract:

Measuring passive knee extension before and after administering general anesthesia contributes to undertanding the mechanism of how flexibility is limited. Results in this study may have been produced by diminished neural drive to antagnist muscle groups, suggesting a more complex neural means for flexibility than the traditional model of neural drive to an agonist muscle.

Patterns of dynamic malalignment, muscle activation, joint motion, and patellofemoral-pain syndrome

Article Abstract:

The best predictor of patellofemoral pain (PFP) is examined. The most predictive measure of PFP was the static-alignment discriminant function (81.3 percent cases) whereas kinematic function was predictive in 69 percent of the cases and EMG function was predictive in 67 percent of the cases.

The immediate effects of lidocaine iontophoresis on trigger-point pain

Article Abstract:

Research suggests iontophoresis with 1% lidocaine is not effective when treating trigger point pain. This finding was reached through work with 23 subjects at a university athletic training facility in an attempt to treat sensitive trigger points over the trapezius.
