The effect of recurrent ankle inversion sprain and taping on proprioception at the ankle

Article Abstract:

Results demonstrate that subjects with recurrent ankle inversion sprain show passive plantarflexion and dorsiflexion. Data further indicate that the protective effect of taping is not due to enhanced proprioception.

Eccentric muscle strength in functional ankle instability

Article Abstract:

A research was conducted to determine the existence of eccentric strength deficits and to investigate muscle strength in subjects with unilateral functional ankle stability. The conclusion states that, the functional ankle instability is not related to the deficits in evertor strength.

Relationship between ankle-foot swelling and self-assessed function after ankle sprain

Article Abstract:

The relationship between ankle-foot swelling and self-assessed ankle function during the early period after ankle sprain is studied in a sample of thirty-six individuals who had sprained their ankles. The results suggest that during the early period after ankle sprain injury there exists no relationship between the ankle-foot swelling and self-assessed ankle function.
